ABOUT US
At Learning Paths School, the school library occupies a pivotal place aiming at inculcating reading habits among the students. LPS Library at present is having a collection of over 10,000 books including fiction, nonfiction, reference and more. It subscribes to 37 periodicals and 10 dailies to cater to the information needs of its users. Our school has a library at the pre-primary, primary and the secondary level to infuse the habit of reading and develop a love for books at the young stage. Our library supports the school curriculum and also caters to the learning and the teaching community of the school.
Library Rules
1. All Students and the staff of the school are members of the library.
2. Strict discipline and silence are to be observed in the library.
3. Students from class I to XII can borrow two books at a time for a period of two weeks.
4. Books will be circulated to the students in the library lessons.
5. Library books should be properly looked after and returned on the due date.
6. Marking, underlining, cutting and erasing or tearing pages of books is strictly prohibited.
7. Textbooks, Reference books, and the Current Periodicals are to be read in the Library. No borrowing of these books is allowed. Old issues of the periodicals can be issued.
8. Make sure to keep back the library resources at their respective places after reading.
9. The Librarian may recall a book at any time in case of emergency.
10. Library books are to be deposited before leaving the station or any break/vacation.
11. NO Dues Certificate for each student is to be obtained from the librarian while withdrawing any student from the school.
Library Services
Circulation of books
The school library provides the regular circulation of books to the students from classes I-XII during the library lessons. The students are encouraged to write book reviews and submit the same.
Library Bulletin Boards
The library maintains the bulletin boards providing information regarding new books added to the library, a book of the week, student book review, book review columns published in newspapers, school press releases, students’ published work and more. The library bulletin boards update one and all about the library’s events.
Library Displays
The new books added to the library stock are displayed in the fresh arrivals rack for a quick glance. Also, there are book displays on the different series, authors, themes to catch the attention of the readers.
Current Awareness Services (CAS)
A list of Article Alert, Journal Alert that is relevant to the students as well a staff is displayed to provide nascent information.
Reference Services
There is a good collection of reference books in the library in different subject areas. These books are not issued and allowed to read only in the library.
Newspaper Clipping and NIE Quiz File
The library maintains a record of the newspaper clippings of all the school coverage for reference. Also, it keeps the record of all the clippings of ‘TOI NIE Quiz’ clippings for quick reference.
Book Fairs
Book Fairs are arranged in the school premises in collaboration with the leading publishers and the students are also taken out to visit book fairs around the city.
Author Visits and Interactions
Every year, we invite renowned authors to interact, promote reading and writing among our students. Our students had an interactive session with Chatura Rao, Simi Srivastava, Ajit Narayan, Devika Rangachari, Ketan Bhagat and more.
Library Timings
The library is open every school day from 08:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
Borrowing details
Staff: 05 Books for a period of one month
Students : 02 Books for a period of two weeks
Open Access and Classification
The library follows an Open Access System. The books are classified and shelved according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. Every book is labelled and spine labels are attached. Junior fiction is shelved separately.
Library Automation and Online Catalogue
The school library uses Schoolpad - Cloud Based School Management Software that offers an online Library Module to manage the library resources. The Library Module manages library data and helps in the quick circulation of the books .This system provides an Online Catalogue Search to the school community. The users can make a book search by author, title, publisher, subject and keywords.
FAQs
How to make a book search?
You can search the books by using an automated catalogue available in the Schoolpad library module. In the browse books search box, make a search by title or author or publisher or keywords. You will get the bibliographical details of the searched item and its classification number as arranged in the library shelves.
ONLINE BOOK ISSUE
The entire catalogue of school library books is available online. One can browse the books available in the library module and also get the books issued from the same portal. The Online Catalogue Search allows the users to make a book search by author, title, publisher, subject and keywords. The books are issued through the online library module available on SchoolPad.
How to submit a Book Review?
You can type your book review in a Microsoft Word Document and mail it to library@learningpaths. You can also write your book reviews neatly on an A4 size paper or any colourful sheet and submit it to the library staff.

How to Renew the book?
You must bring the book to the circulation desk to get it renewed for more days. The renewal will be be done only for a week .
