Year 2015-16
World Book Day (April 23rd)
The year 2015-16 began with the celebration of the ‘World Book Day’ in the Month of April. We always aim at involving our students by doing something new as they enjoy doing unusual things. The students participated in an Inter section competition to design, create and display their school newspaper on their classes’ Bulletin Boards. Their work was splendid as their creative ability was showcased to one and all. The junior wing marked this event by decorating their class doors as their favourite book cover.
Harry Potter Birthday Celebrations July,31
The month of July was dedicated to children’s favourite author, J.K. Rowling. July 31 was marked by the double birthday celebrations of Harry Potter and the author of Harry Potter Series. Readers’ Club presented a Special Assembly and the students participated in a Creative Writing Competition on topics given on the theme.
Summer Reading Challenge
This year the students were instructed in Hindi Reading along with English books during the Annual Library Programme ‘Summer Reading Challenge’. Each student from Classes I-III participated in this ‘Readathon’. The students enjoyed participating in this reading competition that was judged by the Hindi teachers. This programme was fruitful in orienting our young readers towards the school library and the pleasures of reading!
International School Library Month (October)
International School Library Month has become an annual library event and is celebrated enthusiastically in the month of October. Our school became a part of ‘International Bookmark Exchange Project’ in which our students made colorful bookmarks giving information on our country covering various facts. This year we collaborated with ‘McAuliffee Elementary, USA’, ‘Szegedi Gregor Joseph Elementary School, Hungary’ and ‘Lam Tin Methodist Primary School, Hongkong’. The students also shared letters and Diwali greeting cards with their partner schools.
